With a new book just out, a very busy signing schedule, and deadlines still to meet, I get asked by folks how I manage to keep it all together. My answer: Balance.I move forward on a manuscript every morning, seven days a week, which keeps me on track with my writing (and my passion). I work out at the Y three days a week. I find a way to spend time with my family. And, one of the most important elements for my physical health, mental health, and spiritual health, I ride my bike(s).When I come back from a long ride, I feel calmed and centered. Very often, I return with an understanding of how to approach a particularly knotty problem with the manuscript I’m working on.We all struggle with busy schedules and demanding lives. I’m hoping that everyone is as blessed as I feel in having found the path that keeps me grounded and sane.
